There was a guy who lived in an attic room
to have the sky always close by;
he wanted to pass over life like an airplane,
because he didn’t care at all
about what people did,
just one thing was important to him.
And he practiced over and over
to develop that latent talent
that is hidden inside the folds of the mind.
And at night, lying on his bed,
watching the stars through the window in the roof,
he wanted to make contact with a message;
it said:
"Extraterrestrial, take me away.
I want a star all of my own.
Extraterrestrial, come looking for me.
I want a planet where I can start over."
One night, his message was received,
and in an instant he’s been transported
painlessly on an unknown planet.
The sky is a bit more violet than normal,
the sun a bit warmer, but the air tastes good.
And land to explore, and after the land, the sea,
a whole planet to play with.
And, slowly, the awareness,
mingled with a sweet safety:
"The universe is my fortress!"
"O extraterrestrial, take me away.
I want a star all of my own.
Extraterrestrial, come taking me.
I want a planet where I can start over."
But after a while, his confidence
starts showing signs of uncertainty,
he feels bitterness growing inside him.
Because now that his purpose has been fulfilled,
he still feels empty,
he realizes that nothing has changed inside him,
that his fears aren’t gone,
rather, they increased, if anything,
amplified by loneliness.
And now he spends his life trying
to communicate again
with someone who can bring him back.
And he says:
"Extraterrestrial, take me away.
I want to go back to my home.
Extraterrestrial, come looking for me.
I want to come back to start over.
O extraterrestrial, take me away.
I want to go back to my home.
O extraterrestrial, don’t abandon me.
I want to come back to start over."
