Everything is a mirage in this storming world,
Grasp every moment, to your present hold on.
Short as a wink is the life of each one of us,
Only this time can we call our own.
Eternal peace won’t bring joy to a restless heart,
Eternal peace is for ruins and tombs,
But for the star blazing down from the endless sky
There’s just one wink of time, full of glory and light.
Let this old world carry on through the centuries,
Not all the way will I share its trail.
What do I cherish, and yet risk so recklessly?
Only a wink, evanescent and frail.
Shall you be happy, or meet an untimely fate –
Grasp every moment, to your present hold on.
Short as a wink is the life of each one of us,
Only this time can we call our own.
