Under the rock where the river hisses
and where the red stones tower to the sky,
lives the one who's only destroying my heart,
the one I´m madly in love with.
I know he promises love easily,
I know him, his heart is full of holes,
but I want him, I fancy him,
I no longer enjoy living without him.
He often comes to us with a bucket of roses,
the most handsome cowboy around.
His vest is sewn from snakeskin,
fine belt and a few pistols on it.
Right away he asks how I'm doing,
when will I finally give him my heart.
To that I answer that his time is wasted here,
my heart is closer to the Red River.
Under the rock where the river hisses
and where the red stones tower to the sky,
lives the one who's only destroying my heart,
the one I´m madly in love with.
I know he promises love easily,
I know him, his heart is full of holes,
but I want him, I fancy him,
I no longer enjoy living without him.
When it's dark and I go to sleep, the night is black,
my head is sore and dizzy
but I will remain faithful to him,
until he comes back to us again. (2 ×)
