At the shores of the Paraná
from other lands of the Rio de la Plata
they were coming to San Lorenzo
wanting to affront the homeland,
And San Martin with Cabral
made the gaucho history...
From Rosario, Cabral
went with his grenadiers
and in front of that monastery
the homeland was filled with glory,
defeating the invader
that figures now in history...
The homeland was being born
and Cabral was dying,
it doesn't matter my captain,
don't you see I die happy,
it doesn't matter my captain,
don't you see I die happy.
It was a February third
and the sun went up in San Carlos
a hundred fifty patriots
were waiting with San Martin
and at the yell of Freedom!!
freedom was beginning
Since child I learned
in the history books
and now that I understand by thinking,
why so much glory
look, I stand up
to revere its memory
