Pontius Pilate asked Jesus of Nazareth:
"Are you truly the Son of God?"
And Jesus answered: "You said it."
The people ranted and raved: "CRUCIFY HIM, CRUCIFY HIM!"
For the third time, Pilate said to them:
"What sort of mischief has he done?
I haven't found anything about him
That merits this!
Therefore, I will have him beaten and handed over."
But the people started to cry out greatly
And force him that he should crucify the Lord,
And their childish rants convinced Pilate.
And so their plea was satisfied, and Pilate passed sentence,
And they nailed Jesus to the cross.
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
"I say to you: Today you will be with me in paradise."
"Father, I entrust my spirit in Your hands."
