And I don't ask you where you come (or: are coming) from.
You don't tell me where we are.
We are stuck here whatsoever happens,
confused, sluggish and lovestruck.

From the mall the ones are coming who aren't arrested.
A strait-laced milkman is hunting a child
And I don't ask you where you come (or: are coming) from.
You don't tell me where we are.
We are stuck here whatsoever happens,
confused, sluggish and lovestruck.
Outside behind the window
A child is sitting and painting
On the picture of next year's polls. (lit: set of opinions)
A headwaiter is cashing
Out all customers (or: guests).
A drinker of brandy
is overturning the bar (or: counter).
From the parking area the ones are coming who are beyond remedy (lit: aren't savable)
An ex-pollster is hunting a child.
And I don't ask you where you come (or: are coming) from.
You don't tell me where we are.
We are stuck here whatsoever happens,
confused, sluggish and lovestruck.
