Carrying on perchance to see
Amidst the lush greenery
A covered bridge quaint, alone
It's span across a pebbled stream
Its meandering constant flow
To venture through its corridor
Darkness with peeping light
And the sound of steps echo
Resounding from end to end
A passage to be and long ago
Passing through its boughs
Across the planks dynamic too
Exiting a world of knowns
To another seeming once past
Where the terrain is forested
The trees give an ancient sense
Massive trunks and old growth
In a time when they were young
Hundreds of years, yet thousands
Return to that time n'er changed
No traffic taints the time there
Turned back and unloosed
It awaits intrepid strangers
Giving welcome then to them
A glimmer of the distant past
The universe remains there
In a dimension unchanging
N'er to regain the present
What is thought to be now
Is relative to a quantum realm
The present once was behind
But now it is multiple planes
Overall the appearing present
But in details, the recent past
The future slipping in the facts
So the road ahead future seems
Is actually the past unchangeable
The present that is in transition
With no certainty in its course
Spanned by a dis-covered bridge
