Say... what do you throw to the water?
A public grief
and a secret hope.
Tears that aren't mine,
memories and dawns;
old remorses,
words... many words
that for being said,
it's inconvenient to remind them...
And you, what do you throw to the water?
Poorly done jobs,
unfinished songs,
names of bad friends,
doubts and a couple letters
poorly conceived
and written at a bad time...
Say... what do you throw to the water?
Silences, many silences
disgraces, many disgraces,
tasteless attitudes,
unjustified rages,
useless wasted time,
debts that never get paid,
misunderstood sadnesses,
hungers, human miseries,
unconfessable shames,
unconfessed alms,
paternalist advices,
exodus from house to house,
and a disconsolate sensation
in the soul.
And you, what do you throw to the water?
Nonsenses, disagreements,
unnecessary lies,
uncommitted betrayals,
unaccomplished promises,
false beliefs, differences,
hypocrite praises,
unforgivable prejudices,
reckless conclusions,
dark resentments,
unfortunate phrases.
My life, my whole life,
Look how the water takes it!
