*It was traditional in some parts of Andalusia to bury the dead with a black ribbon tied around their hands.

My love, I have only one request,

when I die, don't bury me with my hands tied with black ribbons,

but with your braids of raven hair,

because if my love for you were made of silver,

there would be no one richer in all of Spain.
