The nuts are cracked,
The presents are unpacked,
the new toys are already tried out
if everything works.
The tired Santa Claus
looks from up above,
what he did
with the last strength.
In silence, you stay next to it,
shine with your candlelight.
You bring hope, Light, and Life
in the winter night.
Thank you, dear Christmas Tree
for this beautiful time,
thank you for the luck
and for the colorful Lightdress.
Thank you is telling you every view,
as long as you are with us.
Too bad, that the time with you
so soon is over.
The Kids woke up,
over the holy night,
and still is laying in the air
the sweet Christmas scent.
The parents turn around silently
again in their beds,
for standing up is it way too early,
but dreamingly they guess:
How the kids are playing,
in the morning completely alone,
what they feel in the Chrismas room,
even without candlelight.
Thank you, dear Christmas Tree...
Soon you will be turned upside down,
that is a tradition here,
and the sweet things
land deep in our stomachs.
Thank you, dear Christmas Tree...
