Cucurrucucu Paloma [English translation]

I don't know who put this version of the song In Source Lyrics.. But that is way off! Even in Spanish..

Original Song by: Lola Beltran

Original Translation and words..

They say that through the nights,

(in) no other (way), he went just crying;

they say that he didn't sleep,

(in ) no other (way), he just went drinking.

They swear that the sky itself

trembled by hearing his weeping;

how he suffered for her,

even in his death he was calling her:

"Cucurrucucú!" He sang.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" He laughed.

"Ay, áy, áy, áy, áy!" He cried.

Of mortal passion he was dying.

That a sad dove,

early in the morning, went to sing to her;

at the lonely little house

with it's little doors in pair, open.

They swear that that dove

is no other than his soul,

that it still awaits

the return of the unhappy.

"Cucurrucucú, Dove, Ay, áy, áy, áy, áy, don't cry.

The rocks well never, Dove,

What would they know of loves?

Cucurrucucú, cucurrucucú,

Cucurrucucú, cucurrucucú,

cucurrucucú, Dove, don't cry anymore.

The song is based on man who had a relation with woman to be wed out of her own will, and they had planed to run away together. That didn't happen, for he waited and she never got there and was wed, So he drank his live away hoping for her to come to him. Day and night he waited until he died. He kinda went little mad, (crazy). In as he was dying he hope that if he could have her when he was alive then they shall be together in death.
