What words save mortal men
That they forget blackest fiend
That has a remedy of prevention
But is not seen in potenenance
Its kindred nemesis made meager
Yet a regal beast holds their interest
And breeds covertly incurably so
Where temporal beings thrive
And finds its mark in ignorance
Where apathy mingles carelessly
Lo, behold the donning masks
How they are borne laissez-faire
By fashion buffoons fondling fate
In boasting stature of tom-foolery
Habits bring on destiny's tempest
A wager that has but one whirl
Of the wheel that never wins
And all then left is to take care
In prophylactic designs deemed
To elongate the days that are
The hands of man kept clean
With consideration in full share
That dons mask and gauntlet
Disposed of in due time's task
Awaiting its cure another day, anon
