The companion lost
The companion of my age
We both used to be like the two eyes of one face
And even so you leave, sole and naked
For the land of the lost sight
Like life comes
Like death comes
You came simply
As if arriving at the port
Stronger than love
Stronger than hate
You were part of me, companion
Like my other self
But they found you
Dead at the corner of a street
One summer night
Which cried out to the clouds
For your pierced body
Is my living pain
Into the eternity
Which stays indifferent
The companion of my choice
The companion of hope
Nothing will kill in me
Your secret presence
It is here like defiance
Of the firing guns
A part of me
Is on the other shore
And spends with you
This decisive hour
When I think of you
My pain is unjust
Because you live in me
Beyond death
