In times past in an age of ice
Yet known to blanket the globe
It's spheres far north and south
An incursion upon the land led
For the intensity of pure white
It gained its hold by reflecting
That radiant heat could escape
And the land glaciate slowly so
Though equatorial bands ceased
Its permanent hold unmanageable
And the density of colour cleared
The ashen calderas settled still
Cyclic clime conversions go on
They struggle to master each other
Warranted by global warming's trend
Winter becomes warmly maligned
The snows that once came so early
To blanket the earth from bitter cold
Find no sanctuary in climatic rise
Like oceans against a melting thaw
The great glaciers so very long
So majestic shrink on recessively
Releasing water that flowed ago
In early times of the young world
The density of colour and darkness
Gases that change global chemistry
Impede upon the frigid white lands
Pilfered quietly to the tepid seas
The future resolution lies beyond
This generation will pass on by
Before answers come in given time
And man will remain indentured to it
