The armies converge on stores in this season
Fighting hordes, chaotic with no reason
Gifts they buy at tremendous retail prices
Merchants procure their inflative vices
Yet all this activity and headaches in score
Next year at this time they'll do it once more
Buying cards bearing another's thoughts indirect
Never to think one's own written and correct
Gifts so cheaply made but priced so very high
Paychecks spent, savings lent, I know not why
It's easier to buy it than create singularly
True some things cannot be had regularly
But how many times does creativity hide away
It must be harder to create than it is easier to pay
So when battling the masses for a steal
Pander a better way to secure a better deal
