It cannot be completely ignored
That if men were not motivated so
By fear, by self suffering lack
They would never survive living
Cavemen who lived in dank abodes
Could suffer food loss and cold
And still remain crudely civil
For cooperation gives warmth
Winter is bitter and uncaring
Taking the weak and those alone
Sharing is an adaptation learned
That gives the meek strength
The animals, they know no mercy
And plants are bound to the ground
Winter's cold and summer's heat
Calmly cull the unsuspecting near
A thin blanket warms a lone soul
In a home free of predation's threat
With a thermostat to control clime
A fridge keeps food in store close by
Survivability is not so appreciated
To take the comforts for granted
It is to take life at only face value
Even a caveman could see that fact
