"He wanted to fly as seagulls do,
free in the air, as free as the air"
and the others said "poor fool,
he doesn't know that flying is impossible!".
But he raised his dreams towards the sky
and bit by bit, he was gaining altitude,
and the others remained on the ground,
holding on to their good sense.
And he built castles in the air
in the sun, with clouds of cotton,
in a place to which no-one ever
could reach by using good sense.
And he made fabulous windows,
full of light, magic and colour,
and he summoned the sprites of the things
which have much to do with love.
In the others, when they saw him so happy,
alarm increased, standards were set,
"We wouldn't want it to become catching..."
trying to be happy that way.
The outcome was clear and conclusive,
they sentenced him, for his wild ideas,
to live once more together with the people,
clothed in good sense.
