There is a child on the street
There is a child on the street!
It's the honour of the people to protect what grows
To watch out that there isn't childhood scattered on the streets,
To avoid that their ship heart wrecks
Their incredible adventure of bread and chocolate
Putting a star in the place of hunger.
Doing it a different way is useless, doing it a different way is absurd
To practice joy and singing on the earth
Because it's worth nothing if there's a child in the street.
The world should not go with love barefoot
Hoisting a paper like a wing in its hand
Climbing on trains, exchanging laughter
Hitting our chest with a tired wing.
Life should not go, newborn, with a price,
The risky childhood with a tight profit
Because then hands are a useless burden
And the heart, barely a bad word.
Woe is the one that forgot that there's a child on the street,
That there are millions of children who live on the street
And a multitude of children who grow up on the street
I see them tightening their little hearts.
Looking at us all with fables in their eyes
A lightning cut short crosses their gaze
Because noone protects that life that grows
And love got lost like a child on the street.
