In the wake of devastation
When havoc rules the land
The multitude of saviors
Grows chaotic, hand in hand
They bring resolve and hope
Good fortune after the bad
Straining resources further
The little left yet to be had
So what was needed came
Though the rains fell still
Necessities were scarce
Hot meals a wishful thrill
An empty ambulance went
A mission, nutrition to restore
When the doors were opened
Behold, burgers on the floor
In a heaping pile unsorted
Travel time had chilled down
Flattened by all the weight
Compacted patties round
So years and missions later
Some things stay forever sure
Memories of trial and tragedy
And those burgers on the floor
