I can hear the engines clearly from a distance
Then, like an arrow she whizzes by
The sound roaring in my ears
The wet asphalt quakes
And the rain raises up like a veil
Until she takes off, and then she glides

Until the lights, one by one
Wholly fade into the rainy grey

That tiny dot
While from afar still sounds
The monotonous hum of the engines
Then everything quiets and I leave
Rain seeps through my jacket
Someone's making coffee
In the flight control barracks
Fuel gathers in the puddles

Clouds are reflected therein
