Tropical lagoons
Hide crabs,
Palm trees and coconut groves
As they camouflage out kisses...
I want to feel the salt on my skin!
I want to go to Love Island! 1
And that was everything I wanted:
A pool filled with cold water
Swarthy men and flower garlands!
Tropical lagoons
Hide crabs,
Palm trees and coconut groves
That perfume our desires...
I want to escape to Brazil!
I want to go to Farol Island
To stay at the seaside
And watch the day go by,
As I wait for you to be caught by my fishhook!
[Chorus:]
Buckets of cold water...
They are Northern beaches:
Don't even try, 'cause you'll get goosebumps!
Buckets of cold water...
The sea becomes warm when you ride
On the Southerly wind,
Once Summer arrives.
Tropical lagoons
Hide crabs,
Palm trees and coconut groves
As they camouflage out kisses...
I want to feel the salt on my skin!
I want to go to Love Island!
And that was everything I wanted:
A pool filled with cold water
Swarthy men and flower garlands!
[Chorus:]
Buckets of cold water...
They are Northern beaches:
Don't even try, 'cause you'll get goosebumps!
Buckets of cold water...
The sea becomes warm when you ride
On the Southerly wind,
Once Summer arrives.
1. The myth of the Ilha dos Amores (Love Island) is told by Luís de Camões, in Songs IX and X of his opus '<>Os Lusíadas'. In those verses, the goddess Venus rewards the Portuguese adventurers that accompanied Vasco da Gama, with hedonistic pleasures on a paradise island in the middle of the ocean called, where they pampered by the Nereids.
