Here perched on a rock as if to imitate the sea avaries
I sit and watch the everchanging earth
Each wave pours forth
As if to seize the defending rocks of the coastline
The solar light shines as if to illuminate
The staging area for this untold struggle
No man be but awed by this coastal magnificance
From the kelp-draped rocks to the sea foam
That rides high upon the waves
This lake of brine ebbs with unsung beauty
Only the roar of the thundering waves
Slashing and crashing on the rocks
Sustains the attention of those beings
That may pass this way
I spy a toy-like trawler rolling not far offshore
Perhaps they hear the sirens luring them in
But well versed is the captain
He steers his little bobbing island clear
Off the jagged rocks
The captain loves the beauty of the sea
He respects its dangerous disposition
Gratious for the verdent waves that roll on
