The year's end is drawing nigh
The master's purple blanket spreads
To put the warmed earth to rest
Soothed in the summer sun
Soon it will be time to sleep
The lazy eyes of autumn grey
Can scarcely keep opened
Lulled by winter's dampening
Sunny days are fewer now
Life is storing up for hard times
The cold grey will soon come
And a snowy blanket unfolds
From the tears of Astraea
The blossoms of celestial rays
With love and patience she awaits
In virgin beauty and glowing purity
