Remembrance Day, and Veterans Day
The declared ceasefire finally
For World War I's conclusion
The war to end all wars
The alliances once made
Were very different when
An end of the destruction came
In a railcar at Versailles
In the eleventh month
On the eleventh day
At the eleventh hour
The guns fell silent
In history's wake breaking
The veterans of that war
Millions now all perished
The clock ticks mercifully
Today it is no longer kept
Armistice Day, a day of peace
Instead tis Veterans Day, USA
For all those wanting peace
For some a sacred trust
A dedication to comrades
Living and dead to remember
In moments dear and tranquil
