Old as a rock
Old as a rock
There's 24 hours in a day
Every child knows that today
These are minutes and seconds
That are in big boxes
The month was given to us by the moon
In terms of years one thinks much better.
Old as a rock
Enjoy what has passed,
Surviving the years.
Old as a rock -
The years that have gone by,
Welcome each new day.
But the truth is revolting
Reality looks different
From a boulder, as I am,
Only little remains, I melt away
Not as fast as ice cream (melts) in the sunshine;
What stays of me is barely anything
A grain in the hourglass of this life
Turns around -
and looks for me to no avail
Old as a rock
That is what everyone wants to be,
Surviving the years.
Old as a rock -
The years that have gone by,
Welcome each new day.
But the truth is revolting
Reality looks different
But the years have gone by so fast,
Thats why they have started
To stack them [the years] on the shelves.
Then decades lie there
and hundreds of years.
Old as a rock
Old as a rock
Old as a rock
That is what everyone wants to be,
Surviving the years.
Old as a rock -
The years that have gone by,
Welcome each new day.
But the truth is revolting
Reality looks different
What stays of me is barely anything
I don't want to be a rock again
I don't want to be a rock again
