Like children full of foolish fear
When bedtime's silence overtakes
And the blanket of obscurity fails
We seek hope, a beacon of light
Men turn to religion to give faith
A lantern of hope for the dark
For men hold the liability of knowing
The transience that is all life
So God must bear the image of men
That they would find comfort akin
And fulfill the titles we know well
That promote understanding's light
But do not bear the will of God
In malevolence for transgressions
Percieved by ignorance of cause
For we are mortal and bound to fate
And religion should never oppress
To extinguish benevolent hope here
For all that is good in men prevails
And the bad burns way to ashen dust
So all of us walk the world briefly
Seeking to find hope in challenges
A spark that breaks the darkness
For those afraid, afraid of the dark
