In rare moments
When inclined to do so
To awaken memories lost
I venture out in somber tone
Visiting old friends and strangers
Gathered together, encrypted
Through there are times
When old eras become anew
Yet they may lie in decay now
A discovery of antiquity
Delves up long lost times
Lives that came and went
Now it seems as though
Dreams imperceptible
That lives long ago pass
Generations uncountable
When each of us knows
Only now, within our time
No before, no beyond
Only a sense of wonder
Faces in a glimpse strange
Reliving in instances
Commonly unpercieved
They trek by in flashes
Shadows cloudy, undefined
Brought back visions
In memory and locale
Amid crumbling green
The dingy earth blends
On a grey day, dank, dull
Split seconds envisioned
Shadows of the past
Once pastel, full of life
Full of ambitions brief
Their problems seemingly
So severe and worrisome
Now scattered unseen dust
That has finally fallen
On now mortal shoulders
A continuum of concerns
Time measures men's days
Men measure trivialities
Fabricating difficulties
That turn to dust, gone
What worries, what cares
Can discerned, now nameless
On fading silent stones
So much for ado ago
