Bartering the days for unbound cause
Each hour given away thoughtlessly
As if there is no end in store
An endless, unfathomable inventory
Family's tenuously traded ties gone by
All intentions blend in sands swirling
The sands of time flowing on downward
The hourglass is short-lived so
It's unavoidable end heaping up
Do not waste what you have now
The only remedy is the poison then
To anesthetize the end-stage spirit
The excuses, they will die away
Like friends that fade with each day
In the end alone and desperate
For the next fix for the day
