It's yearning, then

And once more

I've made of you the most perfect drawing

I had scribbled down the strokes from what didn't happen

From the ink I created the colors I chose

Were by me mixed up with our never made promise

Of being three someday

I had you composed in light and shade

And it was always: I didn't mean it

I swear I never wanted to let you down

Always the same excuses

And excuses are not always honest

They almost never are

I had my canvas set up

Out of pieces from our never weared sheets

The frame was by me made out of the wood

From the window of your room

From the gate of your house

I've made pallet and easel

And out of your uncherished tears

I had linseed oil distilled

I ripped pieces from your bed out

And had them carved out in stilettes of different sizes

And so I made brushes out of your hair

I made charcoal out of a lipstick stoled from you

And using it I plotted two vanishing points

And I scrawled my horizon

And it was always: I didn't mean it

I promise I didn't mean it

I didn't mean to hurt you

I promise it won't happen again

And it was always the same, yet again

The same betrayal

It is hard to forget sometimes:

"I'm so sorry, she no longer lives here."

But then, why do I pretend

That I believe in what I craft?

None of that ever happened

It was not quite so

Nobody suffered

And it's only you that makes me feel this empty yearning

Trying to paint these flowers under the name of

"Perfect Love"

and "Forget me not"
