A shepherd watches his flock
Vigilantly so, never swerving
Through the seasons always by
In the snow, in summer's heat
Loyal and faithful to his trust
None shall stay his noble cause
With crosier and care e'er near
Lamb's lie safe from predation
The wolf cannot harm them
The cougar shall run away
Feral dogs will abate attack
In the presence of the shepherd
The righteous man stands up
Strength is in his earnest heart
That beats the passing of hours
The safety of his humble charge
Though the rains beat so hard
Or the sun blazes ever down
None shall stay his vigil kept
Until his master finally calls him
