Today yet again along the river
is flowing tamely like before.
There in the bend was I born,
Now I must up and away
How does the saying go? "You must first go, in order to return again"
Whatever that means, "to home"
Just as it is, it will not remain so
And because it is so, it will become different
A little like "yes", and also again "no"
It isn't forever, and yet it is new
Pity that my wheat blooms elsewhere
Sure, I'm happy that it goes on
It was just the same for others before me
Perhaps the same sun shines elsewhere
that shines here on me
Just as it is, it will not remain so
And because it is so, it will become different
A little like "yes", and also again "no"
It isn't forever, and yet it is new
