No so long ago, I recall,
We had plans for the Earth and for Men
How we’d all be one with Nature
Borders would fall
and we’d bring down the walls
of King Arthur’s war room halls
It was just a matter of time!
How hopeful we were
We let our hearts find their powers
in a multitude of flowers
Jasmine, Lilac
Flowers were the way to win the war
To change the world
And all it presupposes
with a spray of roses
To change women
To change men
with a sprig of geranium
Not so long ago, I recall
We were singing songs
With words like silk petals
on records that a groovy little girl sang along to
The fragrance
Oh, just imagine the fragrance!
of Eden, the garden,
That would be ours tomorrow!
But tomorrow is the same as today
The same dream waits
Deep in our hearts
To softly change everything
To change our souls
To change our hearts
With a spray of roses
To hell with war!
Love is all there is!
Thanks to wildflowers
Ah ! Throughout the world
Our work is cut out for us
To help the young and the old
and even elephants
Oh there’s a lot to do
But I’m here to spur you on!
I’ve brought you flowers
Just wait, we’ll wear scarves and shirts
in all the colors of the rainbow
and if love sometimes seems to fade
Know that there’s just a delay
before our colors, our music, our fragrance
change the old world
and set up a garden in its place
You’ll see, You’ll see
all that flowers can do
An idea in this air has people singing
To change our souls
To change our hearts
With a spray of roses
To hell with war!
Love is all there is!
Thanks to wildflowers
