For those who are chased out of their homes
I write this with heart and reason
I can't help it if the truth scares you
But I'm neither blind nor deaf nor mute
To shut up is sometimes supporting violence and lawlessness
I won't be accomplice of thesilence
Anticolonial is not being anti-Semitic
I'm just a man with a sense of justice
I've only got words as camouflage
For those who are treated like strangers in their own country
For those who have been spoiled and robbed
Who've seen their most fundamental rights violated
Tragic heritage of unfair decisions
taken under British mandate
Since the Balfour Declaration we are getting lost
To understand the present, to understand where history begins
Deprive a nation of self-determination
Share their land without any consultation
Observe the drama of colonization
Two options, the struggle or resignation
Palestine was not a land without people
Predestined to welcome people without a land
There is really an occupier and an occupied
There is really an oppressor and an oppressed
Denying is trying to erase history
And erasing history is refusing to repair it
There is really an aggressor and a victim
A colonizer and a Palestinian resistant
This is about determined facts, not about a point of view
My reason may stick even if my heart is touched
It's not about two equal forces clashing
The media talk about war, What a shame
The third armed power against a nation without a state
(More than 1000 for 10?) during the last Intifada
Is that war?
Despite all what they are undergoing
The Palestinians resist, the Palestinians exist
I've barely seen such courageous people
Their pride shines like the sun even when the weather is stormy
I cannot give up my solidarity
Just as a human I can't take any position
It is a call to share their pains
But the ignorant will say that it is a call to hate
We do not feed injustice by denouncing it, but by keeping it quiet
Whatever they say, I write with heart and reason
There's no calm during occupation
In daily life, occupation is humiliation
The humiliation is violent, constant
on the borders of the check points freedom is dying
I write (about) the misery of a nation
Who doesn't have freedom of movement on his own land anymore
Under the guise of security, Apartheid is disguised
And the wall seperates families
The colonies are multiplying under the passive and accomplice eye of the USA
Endless negotiations for the creation of a Palestinian state
But when time will come, what will there be remaining?
Some scattered pieces of land
At a time I write this text, almost 3 / 4 have been plundered
Almost one million people were forced into exile
Why leave their land if their lives were not a danger?
Their belongings became theirs
Their hopes of returning became desillusions
Have you heard about that so-called law of the absent
The refugees' belongings were returned to occupation
Who can pretend to find this normal
Who can pretend that I would have to remain impartial
To remain impartial when injustice is flagrant
You have to be deaf with a blind morality
History will testify that I stood up like I could
While the major powers are watching them die
They all talk about human rights but do not prevent the massacre
The UN sanctions are only applicable to Iraq
We don't cout the orphans anymore
bullets lost in kids' chests
How many babies under the wreckage?
Entire families decimated by bombs
So-called "targeted" assassinations blasting the civilians
Arbitrarian inprisonments
Tell me, do you think I should keep my mouth shut
I'm supposed to live in a democracy
Yet I fear when I read what I write
Everything is based on facts, but I still fear the storm
I write with the heart, the reason and thecourage
With the heart and the reason
With the heart and the reason
With the heart but also with reason, I can not let this piece (= song) end without mentioning that this text does not take part for a community but shoots the politics of a state and the complicit silence of a world called free.
I'm conscient that in each camp, and I mean in each camp, there are people fighting for things to change, who are fighting for peace and justice and I can only hail their courage and sincerity.
I deplore the death of innocents on both sides.
Who can rejoice to see children die?
Those who have not chosen, the heirs of a world that adults leave them
I write this text, manifest of my active support to peace, to pacifists, to the Palestinians.
Not only because they are Muslims among them because, contrary to the ideas we get and which are rootedin the collective unconsciousness, the Palestinian Arabs are not all Muslims.
I support them because I estimate with the heart and the reason that they're undergoing injustice and that it is important for them that the world knows
While waiting for the world to change, it's not about to bring conflicts in France in a stupid and violent way by unfairly attacking people, their belongings, by destroying cemeteries.
These are things I don't approve and that I clearly condemn.
I hope, I still hope to see peace in justice rising at the horizon and I write with the heart and the reason
