BRON [English translation]

On a bridge

With the heart in my hand again

It is now or never

I died

With the heart in my hand again

Let me go

But never release me1

Let me go

Surely you never forget what you said

"I'd take a bullet for you"

It was me

Because I am crushed

But I will not cry more tears

Because I cannot forgive

You follow me2

But I will not stay

Let me go

Let me go

But never release me1

Let me go

I cannot breathe

Must go

My heart has stopped again

Because I am crushed

But I will not cry more tears

Because I cannot forgive

You follow me2

But I will not stay

Let me go

Because I am crushed

But I will not cry

All nights, all dreams that were ours

Wanted everything

But you never dared to ask

Let me go

I was so easy to get

Now I am just blue

So why did you say that

If I still have to go?

Let me go

I am high

Let me go

Because I am crushed

But I will not cry more tears

Because I cannot forgive

You follow me2

But I will not stay

Let me go

Because I am crushed

But I will not cry

All nights, all dreams that were ours

Wanted everything

But you never dared to ask

Let me go

Let me go

I am high

Let me go

I am high

Let me go

1. a. b. This is perhaps a bit too literal since the best translation of this line would be "But never let me go" if it hadn't been directly contradictory to the preceding line. The verb "att släppa" can mean "to release (one's grip of sth)", "to (intentionally) drop sth" and in some cases "to give up (on sth)" or "to stop dwell on sth". It is not clear if Li wants to make use of any particular meaning of the word. Maybe she wants this other person to let her (physically) walk away from him ("Låt mig gå") without ever forgetting or giving up on her ("Men släpp mig aldrig"). It's also possible that she simply uses two phrases with more or less the same meaning to say that she has conflicting or ambiguous feelings for the other person.2. a. b. c. Literally "You walk after" or "You go after"
