The prisoner in cell number 9
Is going to receive his Last Rites:
He's praying in his cell
With the prison's chaplain
Because, before dawn
They shall take his life
Since he murdered his wife
And a disloyal friend.
He tells this to the Confessor:
"I killed them, oh yes indeed!
And, if I were to be reborn,
I'd kill them all over again!"
"Father, I'm not repentant
And I'm not afraid of eternity.
I know that up there, in Heaven
Our Supreme Being shall judge us...
I shall follow on their steps,
I'm going to look for them in the Hereafter!"
The prisoner in cell number 9
Was a very decent man:
The night of the duel, he was going
Very happily to his little shack.
But upon seeing his beloved
In his rival's arms,
Rage exploded in his chest
And he couldn't hold himself back.
And as the bugle rang
The firing squad got into position
And, close to the firing line
They heard how the prisoner said:
"Father, I'm not repentant
And I'm not afraid of eternity.
I know that up there, in Heaven
Our Supreme Being shall judge us...
I shall follow on their steps,
I'm going to look for them in the Hereafter!"
