died when new year was celebrated...

She had laid, the night before,

miraculously!

an egg.

Jeanne's

duck

died through having,

at least we presume,

a bad

cold!

Jeanne's

duck

died on her egg,

and in her lovely costume

of quite new

feathers!

As Jeanne's

duck

left no widower,

it was the rest of us who got

the feathers,

and the egg.

All us men, and women,

no doubt,

will retain for a long time the

memory of Jeanne's

duck

by gum!
