Children wearing summer clothes and showered in evening sunlight
Say goodbye to each other without any worry
A rusty swing set was gently swinging in the air
When I caught it, as if I was stopping a pendulum
The sky changes its colours so fast, as if its feet are running
"I hate the night, but it's just gotten longer again"
Because of the liar that is the night
I believed that there was such a thing as eternity
I think it placed itself onto my chest
And whispered it to my heart
As I make the swing set sway loudly like a train
The stars spin behind my eyes
On that day you held me tight and said "I love you so much"
Maybe we could've properly said goodbye
Would putting my heels back on weaken the pain?
"I hate the night, but it's just gotten darker again"
My heart's like the autumn breeze, blowing through
And leading itself away to wherever it pleases
But that'll never compare to the pleasure
Of loving other people
But my sorrow, and even all my nights
Change form every season
I think that's why my heart pretends
To not know you were just lying
