‘Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Leads The Five Games You Need To Play

Every week there seems to be more and more games for more and more platforms. Every Monday, we cut through the list and pick out the five games you should look at this week, starting with our Pick Of The Week. And this one’s not exactly a tough call.

Pick Of The Week

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Nov. 4th, PS4, Xbox One, PC

Yup, the annual franchise is back again and this time it’s going to space. Call of Duty has taken a decided hard SF bent over the last few years, and this seems to be the year it goes full-on, all-out SF. It also comes with a host of stars as Kit Harrington plays the bad guy and Conor McGregor plays his face-punching second-in-command in the main campaign, while Zombies stars Seth Green, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Pharaoh, Paul Reubens, and David Hasselhoff as you shoot the ’80s. There’s also the multiplayer, of course, and if that weren’t enough, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been remastered and will come with the game if you shell out for the Legacy, Legacy Pro, or Digital Deluxe editions. So you at least get a lot of game for your money.

This Week On PC

Owlboy, Nov. 1st

The notoriously forever-in-development sprite game is, yes, finally coming Tuesday. One doesn’t envy D-Pad Studios, which spent ten years developing the game, the weight of expectations laid on it, but on the bright side, the game looks beautiful and seems like it’ll play just as well.

Football Manager 17, Nov. 4th

Sega’s series, where instead of actually playing soccer you play the sometimes-shady people in the office ensuring soccer makes gazillions of dollars, has a small but fiercely loyal fanbase, and the ridiculously hardcore sim is so detailed, it’s even going to try and predict the effect of Brexit on the world’s most popular sport. We guess somebody had to Anyway, the game’s appeal can be confusing to those who aren’t into this, as it basically resembles an office job sim, but it’s got a surprising number of fans, many of whom will basically drop out of your life for the next week.

This Week On Console

Seraph, Nov. 1st, PS4, Xbox One, PC

This sidescroller features you as a dual-wielding angel fighting through a technological base because that’s really cool. I’m sure there’s a plot related reason, but let’s face it, once you hand an angel two pistols, that’s really what you focus on. The main gimmick is the auto-aiming system, you’re just supposed to hammer the fire button while dodging bullets and doing sweet ground pounds. Hey, there are worse ideas for a game.

Super Dungeon Bros., Nov. 1st, PS4, Xbox One, PC

If you miss Diablo, or just are sick of playing it yet don’t want to stop, either, this appears to be an adorable take on the idea, full of deathtraps and ’80s attitude. The co-op is promising, but the trailer is a bit heavy on the “bro” angle, which might get a wee bit tiresome.
