DC Comics fans are about to get a whole of of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman — both in her own film this summer, and when November’s Justice League hits. Yet Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, whose initial October 2018 release date was pushed back to December, may not get any extra time on screen thanks to repeated production delays. Such is the case for Ben Affleck’s The Batman and many other DC properties at Warner Bros., but none of that matters, really. Why Because we’re about to get a second Justice League trailer on Saturday.
Besides, the first trailer director Zack Snyder revealed at San Diego Comic-Con featured a lot of Momoa’s take on Arthur Curry. And if this Aquaman-centric second trailer preview is any indication, Justice League will do the same for him, Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher). (In other words, the three DC characters with announced solo movies that have yet to go into production.) After all, the above preview ends with Curry wielding the Trident of Neptune to part the friggin’ ocean.
What’s more, Snyder includes what appears to be a nod to the first trailer’s tense exchange between Bruce Wayne and Curry. As that trailer suggested, joining the Justice League proves to be a hard sell for Aquaman. Considering the above scene in which Batman hands Curry’s weapon to him, however, perhaps the league members will totally become friends and do shots together! (Probably not.)
