Brock Lesnar is WWE Universal champion yet again, and not much has changed in the three months or so between him dropping the belt to Roman Reigns and winning it back again at Crown Jewel.
Lesnar has wrestled twice since August — both wins against Braun Strowman and Daniel Bryan — and that fact appears to have irked one of WWE’s workhorses, Seth Rollins.
Rollins, who literally wrestled more in one night than Lesnar did over nearly a year, recently spoke to Rock 105.3, where he laid out his problems with Lesnar’s part-time schedule, per Wrestling Inc.:
“I understand it, I understand Brock Lesnar. Lesnar’s our Universal Champion and he hasn’t been on Monday Night Raw in some time,” Rollins said.
“From my perspective, as a person who’s on every show, every week, I’m out on the live events trying to bring people in to see these shows, it’s slightly insulting to me that he’s our champion and he’s the face of our show, and he’s not at our live events. So people who watch the television shows, now they’re not getting the same thing when they come to the live events. So it makes it hard for us, as a team, to sell tickets”
Rollins went on to talk up the Intercontinental title as the real championship on Raw before acknowledging that Lesnar has earned the right to operate on his own schedule.
With Lesnar’s impending return to UFC apparently on the books, his already limited WWE schedule could be even lighter. No matter who it angers, in or out of the locker room, it doesn’t appear any real changes are on their way.
