Hot Damn, There’s More ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ On The Way At NBC

Dust off your code names and prepare for another round of Halloween heists, everybody, because Brooklyn Nine-Nine won’t be leaving NBC’s comedy lineup anytime soon. That’s because the network has officially renewed the once-canceled Fox series for a seventh season.

According to Variety, co-creators Dan Goor and Mike Schur‘s hilarious workplace comedy based in a nonexistent New York Police Department precinct will return to NBC during the 2019-2020 television season. It will be the show’s seventh season overall, but its second at NBC, which saved it from cancellation after Fox pulled the plug following the completion of its fifth season.

“It’s been one of our great joys as a network to give Brooklyn Nine-Nine a second life,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, the co-presidents of scripted programming at NBC. “Cheers to Dan Goor, Mike Schur, Luke Del Tredici and David Miner, and our amazing cast and crew who each week turn New York’s finest into New York’s funniest.”

Although the previous seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine at Fox consisted of 22 episodes each, NBC’s initial season six order was only for 13 episodes. The network, whose studio arm Universal Television has produced the show from the beginning, subsequently upgraded this order to 18 episodes. As for season seven, NBC has yet to indicate how many episodes it will order. Until then, enjoy actor Andre Braugher’s first-ever tweet, which he posted for the world to see on Tuesday.
