WWE Raw
Earlier today we speculated wildly about what new WWE Championship Mick Foley would be debuting on Raw following the announcement at Money in the Bank brand pay-per-view®, and now we have our answer: meet the 24/7 Championship.
Foley — wearing a tie-dyed green shamrock shirt for some reason — announced that it was time for Monday Night to “get Raw again” and debuted the belts to boos, as mention of “24/7” got the crowd expecting a Hardcore Championship. You can watch the unveiling of the green and gold championship that looks like the logo of a diner below.
While not specifically a rebranding of the classic World Wrestling Federation Hardcore Championship, the 24/7 Championship will play with some of the same rules as that title, as it’s able to be defended any time, anywhere, on a wrestling show or outside of a wrestling show, by anyone on any brand. That includes NXT, 205 Live, NXT UK, and “visiting legends.” It also has a “falls count anywhere” modifier, which Foley set up by lying the belt in the center of the ring and announcing that the title was up for grabs for anyone willing to take it.
A group of superstars scrambled for the championship, including Cedric Alexander, the Good Brothers, EC3, No Way Jose, Mojo Rawley, Eric Young, and more. The fight came down to Drake Maverick and Titus O’Neil, with O’Neil tossing Drake to the floor and claming the title. On his way out, Robert Roode rolled him up on the ramp and became the second champion. And so it goes.
The 24/7 Championship is the second new championship announced by the company in 2019, following the creation of the Women’s Tag Team Championship back in January.
