‘Game Of Thrones’ Viewers Believe The Series Ending Was Secretly Revealed In A Season 1 Poster

Game of Thrones came to a stunning (and some might say anticlimactic) end on Sunday night with the revelation of winner Bran Stark. Indeed, the boy who was pushed out of a tower by Jaime Lannister not only survived but became the Three-Eyed Raven, the main target of the Night King, and ultimately, Bran the Broken, protector of the realm and leader of Six Kingdoms. Gwendoline Christie apparently predicted the outcome a few years ago, but did an official poster reveal the winner way back in season 1

Well, maybe. You be the judge.

The character poster in question (which was curiously Instagrammed by Euron Greyjoy actor Pilou Asbæk on finale night) features Ned Stark sitting on the Iron Throne. The image contains the “you win or you die” tagline that proved not to be entirely true, given that multiple contenders for the Iron Throne did not perish. Ned Stark, however, obviously died in the first season. More relevant for our purposes here There’s a raven sitting on the throne to Ned’s right.

Soooo … Bran That’s definitely one interpretation, and it would almost be fitting if audiences troubled over who would win for eight seasons while the answer was hidden all along. While we wait on George R.R. Martin to cryptically weigh in while also giving a self-deprecating update on Winds of Winter, here’s word from several fans who truly believe that this poster revealed all.
