Rick Bognar, WWE’s ‘Fake Razor Ramon,’ Has Died

Pro wrestler Rick Bognar, formerly known as ECW and FMW’s ‘Big Titan’ and most famous known to WWE fans as ‘Fake Razor Ramon,’ has died. No cause of death has been announced yet, but Bognar reportedly passed away unexpectedly on September 20 at only 49 years old.

Former WCW referee Billy Silverman broke the news in a post on Facebook, by way of Bognar’s brother.

RIP Rick Bognar

It is with great sadness that I share some news with Rick’s Facebook friends. On September 20th Rick passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of 49. It is tough to comprehend and will likely never sink in fully.

Rick left behind a great legacy and I know he will be remembered and missed by all of us.

Ken Bognar (Rick’s brother)

Bognar found the most success in the early ’90s as part of Japan’s Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, where he held the FMW Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Championship as well as the Brass Knuckles Tag Team Championships alongside with the Gladiator, aka Mike Awesome. He’d briefly compete as Big Titan in ECW before signing with WWE in 1996, becoming part of one of the most infamously bad angles in company history.

Our love and best wishes go out to Bognar’s family and friends. You can watch a few videos from Bognar’s career and see the reaction from his friends and peers in the business below.

Sad to hear about the passing of Rick Bognar/Rick Titan. Great a d funny guy from the time I met him in ECW. Some remember him as Fake Razor Ramon. That gig came out of him doing it on an ECW house show. He popped the boys and the crowd. God speed Rick!
