What good pray tell could it be
That bright badges regale
Or ratings glow of yellow stars
Thanks begotten of clichés delight
Such trivialities bear no value
Not even to buy a bunch of beans
And sniveling commentary given
Not much of a legacy to show
What words, what work could impart
To justify an existence tenuously held
That victory that outweighs time
Its meaning kept through ages
Names forgotten, banter too
All that's left is judged freely
What is good remains enduring
What is bad is awash in the gutter
Focus then on what is great
Enduring time's ravages e'er
For a legacy left strong in stone
Outwears banter effaced by scouring sands
