Down a river of clear waters
goes Palo Cantamañanas.
He is looking for an apple
to bite on and go crazy.
He finds one and sinks his teeth on it;
he is struck and knows nothing.
He is happier than anything;
he is so high noting matters.
It's already been some weeks
of spring, of sunny afternoons.
In the forest of the apples
lives Pablo Cantamañanas.
In a calm pond
he finds a beautiful silver trout.
He sees it and grabs his guitar;
he recites a sonnet to see if he can catch it.
"Oh little black-eyed fish girl,
be careful because today I'm in heat;
it's springtime and you're so delicious;
grab your stuff, let's go upstream"
